A ptosis is defined as drooping of the upper eyelid margin, which can be caused by a variety of different things. In some cases, it may be due to natural aging, as the skin and muscles around the eye begin to weaken over time.
Ptosis can also be caused by trauma or injury to the eye area, or by certain medical conditions such as diabetes or thyroid disorders.
However, ptosis may also be purely aesthetic, resulting from excess skin or fatty tissue in the upper eyelid. However, it can also cause functional problems, such as difficulty seeing. In these cases, surgery may be necessary to correct the ptosis.
Luckily, there are now many non-invasive options available that can provide excellent results with minimal downtime or risk.
The most common type of ptosis is actually aesthetic, meaning that it does not impair vision or cause any other functional problems. Some non-invasive options are available for these group of patients.

Treatment for ptosis depends on the underlying cause.
If the ptosis is due to muscle weakness, Botox can be used to temporarily weaken the muscles and allow the eyelid to be lifted.
if all other treatments fail, SP Dynamis laser HIFU can be used to heat and tighten the skin around the eyelid, lifting it up.
